F is for - Free Food and Foolish Falderal For Fallow Folks and other Feral Freeloading Freaks.

(Title Translation:  You Pay, I'll Play.  That's Fair.

Except for Christmas and birthday cards, my wife and her best friend from her high school days had no contact and they had not seen each other for over 35 years.  She was a true pot smoking, hippy during the ‘70s.  Today she would be identified with the liberal “Occupy” freaks.

Sooner or later, you would expect that most of them would grow up.  After all, it has been said, “If you are under the age of 25 and are not a liberal, you have no heart.  If you are over the age of 25 and are not a conservative, you have no brain.”

But nooo!  That wasn't the case with the San Francisco flower girl; she never changed.

One day, a few years ago, she called and arranged for a visit.  You know, one of those awkward reminiscing events with long lost friends where you sit around getting reacquainted and pretending to like someone you don’t know and with whom you have little in common.

So I politely sat there and put on my best behavior, smiled once in a while, and entered into some occasional cordial chitchat with my wife and her old friend.

The pleasantries soon degenerated - no they crashed.  One thing about liberals-they pretend to be open-minded and tolerant of other views but they’re really not.  This one had all the classic, socialistic talking points regarding our fundamental human rights to free health care.  I thought I would puke.  I just couldn’t contain myself.

My wife was disappointed about the shout down that ensued but it was my house, for cryin’ out loud.  Her friend is free to have her own opinions but she is NOT free to spew her liberal happycrap in my living room and expect that I will not contest it.   Apparently she missed the “No Spin Zone” doormat when she entered my sanctified conservative abode.

As she continued to foment her foolish blather about everyone’s right to free health care because health care is a basic human need, I counterattacked with this ultimate hypothetical absurdity.   “What about food?” I asked, “Doesn’t everyone require food to survive?  Isn’t food a basic human need?  Why doesn't everyone the right to free food?”

What happened next was spooky.  She didn’t blow it off as the ridiculous proposition that it was; she savored it.  She embraced it.  It was like the glory of new, extrabiblical revelation suddenly shattered the darkness,  “Yeah, that’s a great idea,” she said.

I thought I was being facetious then but it turns out that I might have been prophetic.  Just look where we are today.  Most of us conservative types could see it coming with nationalized health care.  It would only be a matter of time before the food Nazis would begin to control what we eat as preventative healthcare measures.  Have you noticed how hard it is to get salt in fast food restaurants lately?  Now food control is creeping into our schools.  Stupid parents are not to be trusted to prepare lunches for their children; the government will provide nutritious meals that contain tofu and celery sticks instead of baloney and cheese.  And don't even think about giving your child a cupcake.  Let him eat a rice cake instead.

Recently the governor of New York passed an ordinance prohibiting people from feeding hungry homeless people.  Only the government is allowed to provide food for the homeless.  "It's a public health and safety issue," he said.

Look out folks; its coming.  Free government-provided food for everyone.  Just don’t expect it to taste good; No Salt, No Fat, No Sugar, No Flavor, No Fun, but hey, a lot of fat people might lose some weight.

Does anyone remember “Soylent Green?”

But it's not just about food; it's about this sense of entitlement that so many deadbeat takers have.  Some of us work to earn money so the government can take it from us and give it to those who do nothing.  And it doesn't bother them a bit.  This following video is a classic example of the state of our State where we are paying to educate idiots.  Judge Judy promised to send a copy of this to Congress.  Apparently it has been pulled from YouTube by CBS but another copy has surfaced.  Check it out; if you are conservative, you will be outraged.  If you are liberal, you won't understand it.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.  2 Thessalonians 3:10

But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.  1 Timothy 5:8
