The Grey Brigade

A friend emailed this to me and told me I need to enlist.
I told him I'm already in.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam . We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America ; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing.

We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America .

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies." You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade."

Success Has Its Own Reward

One big "ATTABOY" award for my four-year-old grandson.

Ron Paul Cheated By GOP Corruption In Athens Clarke County, Georgia

The person with the most votes wins.  Well that's the way its supposed to work.  But apparently the GOP thinks it should be, "The person we decide to get the most votes wins.

I am not a Ron Paul fan.  There have been and are other men and women whom I prefer over the good doctor.

Regardless of my preferences, I have always determined to cast all 7 of my votes for the Republican nominee.  If that man is Ron Paul he will get my 7 votes.  Conversely I figured I would take a deep breath, hold my nose and go kicking and screaming to cast my votes for the pro-abortion, anti second amendment, big government medical care promoting RINO, Mith Romney if he were the last man standing.

Well not any more!  After watching the way the GOP abused its members in Georgia last week, I am now planning to mark all 7 of my votes for Dr. Ron Paul in the general election in November unless
the GOP does some serious housekeeping.  The people have a right to fair, lawful election proceseses.

We have come to expect fraud, corruption, voter intimidation, and undemocratic election stealing from the left.  The GOP had better wake up.  We the people will not continue to support the party if the party is indistinguishable from the Democrat party.  We are tired of all this inside-the-beltway, good-old-boys, elite crony crap.

We may be unsophisticated, uneducated, uncouth, and untoothed but we still have our pitchforks, our guns, and our votes.  So listen up GOP, if you want my votes for your party's nominee, expose this corruption and fix this problem in Athens Clarke County.  You need to get with us or get lost.

This Is Why Our Founders Gave Us The Second Amendment

This story is a small, proud moment in American history.  It is, in part, a tribute to the need and purpose for the 2nd Amendment.

The Battle of Athens was a local issue.  It was a cakewalk.

The next battle could be widespread.  Americans deserve honest elections without intimidation, thuggery, or fraud.  It is our Constitutional right.

The Second Amendment is our protection against government tyranny.

Don't Give TULIPs To People Who Hate Flowers

I asked my friend, "Do you believe in the sovereignty of God?"

He said, "Yes, I do!"

I asked, "Do you believe He is sovereign in all things?"

He said, "Of course He is."

I asked, "But do you really, really believe that He is absolutely sovereign in everything?"

He said, "Yes!  He is sovereign in everything."

Then I asked him, "Do you believe God sovereign in salvation?"

He said, "Well, to an extent."

And that's when the argument started.

"Calvinism" seems to start a lot of arguments.  In my community, it has just recently caused a church split.  In another church, a visiting family attended for several weeks until they "found out" that the pastor was a "Calvinist."

Why recite the five points of the TULIP when you can just recite the Word of God?

In this post, Michael Acidri boldly declares biblical Truth from the Word of God without tiptoeing through the TULIPs.  End of argument.

The Irrelevance of Relevance-Seekers

"A ministry that God honors maintains the biblical distinction between the world and the church which is called out from the world."
"Those Christians who seek to make Christ and His Church more attractive to unbelievers by appealing to them in the natural state of their lostness—by seeking to woo them by fleshly and superficial means—implicitly regard themselves and their methodologies as more glorious than Christ Himself. If unbelievers hate Jesus as He’s presented in Scripture, and if they regard the Apostles as fools for their message, but they like us, it may be because we’re more like them than like our Savior."

How Sheriff Joe Arpiao Helped Make My Birthday Enjoyable!

I woke this morning to my wife singing "you're older than I am."  She does that every day for 55 days each year until she catches up to me late in April.

My pastor Emailed me to wish me a happy birthday and invited me to lunch at Der Weinerschnitzel for a chili cheese dog.  I love those chile cheese dogs.  I had to decline; maybe he'll make it up later.

Then my wife "treated" me to a free birthday breakfast at Denny's.

I learned, on the news, that a great American and TEA party hero, Andrew Breitbart, died this morning at the age of 43.  It was just a few days ago that I thought about contacting him to see if I could go to work for him.  I will miss him.

One of my daughters, Valerie, and her five children joined us for the breakfast.  Denny's also gave me a free dish of ice cream and everyone sang "Happy Birthday."  The family at the booth next to us joined the song.  One of my grandsons gave me a hand-made birthday card with an excellent drawing of a rhinoceros.

My other daughter, Dawn, and her three children called and sang "Happy Birthday."   Later this afternoon a friend treated me to a Reese's peanut butter cup Blizzard at Dairy Queen.  He had a coupon so he got mine for free.

Dozens of my Facebook friends, many of whom I have never met, wished me a happy birthday.

BUT, the most thrilling event of the day was reading this message that I got from Arizona's Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio.  It  is the major preliminary finding of a six-month ongoing Sheriff's Cold Case Posse law enforcement investigation into the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate and his eligibility to be president.  It doesn't look good for the Chief but, really, all He has to do is come clean with the proof He insists that He has.   Andy is gone but Sheriff Joe is still engaged in the war for truth and the protection of our constitutional republic.

I was born on March 1, 1948 in Culver City, California and I HAVE COPIES OF MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO PROVE IT.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the day; I'm sure it will be great.  Thanks to all my family and friends and Sheriff Joe.  Happy Birthday to me!
