Dismemberment And Amputation

Dismemberment - the act of cutting, tearing, pulling, wrenching or otherwise removing, the limbs of a living thing. It has sometimes been practiced by despotic rulers as a form of capital punishment.  Sometimes it is as a result of a traumatic accident, or in connection with murder, suicide, or cannibalism.  As opposed to surgical amputation of the limbs, dismemberment is often fatal to all but the simplest of creatures. Wikipedia

Notice the difference between dismemberment and amputation.  Amputation is a precise surgical process of cutting something off that has become corrupted or diseased and can destroy the body if it is not removed.  Its purpose is to save the life of a body.

Dismemberment is a violent, torturous act of cutting off body parts.  It usually ends in death.

So why is it that so many church leaders today, neglect necessary amputation in the “Body of Christ” and, instead, cut and tear and pull the church apart, limb by limb to its detriment and possible death?

Just Wondered!

I would submit that the reason is they look to public opinion more than the Word. The Bible talks about correction, rebuke, reprove and even has cases of expulsion. But what do you expect from people educated in public schools.

Grace and peace.
