Vice President Joe Biden was very clear about the Swine Flu pandemic; "I wouldn't go anywhere in a closed area."
I don't know why that is so hard for the press to understand. It took the White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs to explain it today.
"Well, uh, what the V.P., er, meant to say was uh, if you are, uh, feeling, uh, sick, you should, you know, uh, go see a doctor or something. Weren't you, uh, listening? Why can't you dummies, er, ever get it right?"

Joe Biden is a loose cannon, isn't he, and Robert Gibbs drives me CRAZY.
We went to Costco today and ATE pizza. I'm hoping we all get this flu now when it's a mild case instead of this winter when it might will have mutated into something deadly (like in 1918).
Yup, that's exactly what Biden meant!
Interesting letter from the New York Post staff to Joe Biden: http://www.nypost.com/php/pfriendly/print.php?url=http://www.nypost.com/seven/05012009/news/politics/dear_joe_____167156.htm
I thought it was particularly humorous when Gibbs met with the Whitehouse Press Corps after Joe's "gaffe" and said, "Let me tell you what the Vice President meant to say"...I could even hear the jaded cynics in the press corp burst into laughter in the background after that one!
I thought Biden was very articulate, clear, and passionate in his comments wherein HE carefully delineated the instructions HE - as Vice President with all the information and intelligence briefings he's no doubt received - would give HIS FAMILY.
I'd say Biden's advice on this subject is very well informed and reasonable. And the spin-meister Gibbs? Maybe not so much.
In Christ,

Ron, Thanks for the link; that was dead-on.
CD, You're right; Joe was speaking his mind and his concerns (which, by the way, are in agreement with most of the country).
