No pushing, shoving for a seat;
No drummer boy to keep the beat.
No snow machines, no snowball fights;
No decibels, no blinding lights.
No jingle bells, no one-horse sleigh;
No little baby in the hay.
We sang no frozen Disney song;
Somehow that would seem so wrong.
No Santa Claus and no fake snow;
No folderol, no dance, no show,
All we had was Scripture reading;
interspersed with carol singing.
We prayed, and praised the One who came;
To live and die and rise again.
